EPICENTER’s INNOV8 Conference:
The Italian entrepreneur and eighth generation dairy producer, Roberto Brazzale, has started producing artisanal Italian cheese in the Czech region of Moravia. Due to the near perfect weather conditions for cheese production in the Moravia region and Brazzale’s eco-sustainable practices, Gran Moravia has less than half of the water footprint of other cheeses, is more affordable than, and indistinguishable in taste from, the Italian Grana Padano. Yet, due to the GI regulation, it cannot be identified as such. Shouldn’t Brazzale be rewarded rather than disadvantaged for his innovative, entrepreneurial and environmentally conscious work? The conference will provide a unique forum to exchange ideas, shape policy and ensure that the EU remains at the forefront of technological change and policy opportunities.
