The eco-sustainable supply chain Gran Moravia, has been certified according to UNI EN ISO 22005:2008.
On the 14th of June 2011, the international organization “DNV – Det Norske Veritas” has successfully completed the certification process required by ISO standards, recognizing responsibility and sustainability features to Gran Moravia and to its chain, which has been, for a long time, a peculiar aim of Brazzale group in management of their supply chains.
The aims of the supply chain, on which Gran Moravia was measured, put in evidence, not only the compliance with ISO requirements, but also elements of excellence on key parameters of environmental impact, in order to the safeguard of environment and people.
Here are the best considered chain’s parameters, set in the disciplinary of Gran Moravia, that the achieved certification now makes transparent and monitored by a qualified third party:
[list type=”bullet”]
- The allocation of 5 hectares minimum of land for each single bovine in lactation;
- The free stabling with individual berths for more than 90% of cattle raised;
- A load of nitrates, per hectare, six times lower than the EU limits;
- A limit ten times more restrictive than the one indicated by the law, concerning the presence of natural aflatoxins of the forage into the milk in the stable: such a low value turns in a final product with no aflatoxins at all.

The Gran Moravia chain, presented to the public for the first time during CIBU 2010, daily collects milk from more than 18,000 high-genealogically cows, bred in a network of 80 farms directly coordinates from Brazzale technicians.
The extension of farms covers nearly 90,000 hectares of land in the beautiful farming area of Moravia, Czech Republic, where best fodder, for the production of the long seasoning hard cheese Gran Moravia, are cultivated.
“With this great step – says the project manager Roberto Brazzale – we want to offer our customers the absolute guarantee about the extraordinary characteristics of Gran Moravian chain, tracing every stage of production from field to the final product. In order to achieve this aim, the task has been given to the best-known certification organization worldwide.
The environmental qualities of the supply chain turn directly into the healthfulness and organoleptic quality of the final product, making it a unique case on the market.
We are happy to see at last realized, step by step, the projects of innovative food chains in which, for many years, we invest all our energies. A special thanks goes to our technicians who live these beautiful challenges with full and passionate involvement.”
