Sant'Agata warehouse wins first prize for best sustainable process innovation at World Dairy Summit 2022
The world’s most important event in the dairy sector was attended by 12 of its government ministers as well as 3,000 delegates from all over the world. And on the very first day of the Forum, the Sant’Agata robotised warehouse won the first prize for sustainable process innovation at the ‘Dairy Innovation Awards’, assigned by an international jury of experts and scientists. In the final, Brazzale’s ripening plant prevailed over process innovations by the Chinese Yili Group and the US-based Leprino Foods Company.
This is a great satisfaction that crowns the revolutionary robotised warehouse, made in Cogollo del Cengio, with the most prestigious international award assigned by a selected jury of experts,” commented Roberto Brazzale as he collected the prize in New Delhi. “In thanking the jury and the audience, I wanted to personally recall the names of four of our historical collaborators in the Zanè warehouse to whom we dedicated each robot: Battista (Rosso), Angelo, Franco, Foscari. Thanks were obviously extended to the formidable Italian and Dutch technical staff led by engineer Claudio Fedi who made the work possible. Artificial intelligence does not exist, there is only human intelligence, which never ceases to amaze”.
Sant’Agata: optimum seasoning thanks to technology and the Valdastico breeze
The Sant’Agata warehouse in Cogollo del Cengio (Vi), is the most advanced plant for long ripening cheeses, destined for Gran Moravia cheese, completely robotized and equipped with the most refined artificial intelligence solutions for the control of micro-climatic conditions and every single operation. Built just 8 kilometres from the Brazzale headquarters in Zanè, the warehouse relies on an integrated system of shuttles and anthropomorphic robots to take care of 200 thousand Gran Moravia cheeses, maturing in the more than 8,000 square metres of covered space of the plant, inaugurated in the summer of 2021 and already being expanded by about 25%. Among the pluses of the new facility is the great energy saving that will make it possible to achieve energy self-sufficiency thanks to photovoltaic panels on the roof of the warehouse, in a sort of ‘perpetual motion’.
